Concrete Repairs

Not every cracked slab needs to come out. We look at why it failed first. Surface spalling and cracks can often be repaired and resurfaced. A slab that has settled can sometimes be lifted and leveled rather than torn out. We reseal joints, patch spalls, and resurface worn concrete. When the base under a slab has failed or the concrete is broken up, we tell you straight that replacement is the right call instead of selling you a patch that will not hold.

How we decide repair versus replacement

We start by figuring out why the concrete failed, because that decides the fix. Surface problems like spalling, scaling, and tight cracks can usually be repaired and resurfaced. A slab that has settled but is still sound can often be lifted and leveled. But when the base underneath has washed out or failed, or the slab is broken into pieces that move independently, a repair will not hold and replacement is the honest call. We tell you which one you are looking at before any work starts.

What we can fix

We patch spalls and broken edges, seal and repair cracks, resurface worn and pitted concrete, reseal control and expansion joints, and grind down trip hazards where slabs have lifted at a joint. On settled slabs we can raise and level them back into place. Where a repair buys you years, we do the repair. Where it would only hide a bigger problem, we say so.

Concrete Repairs FAQs

It comes down to why it failed. Surface cracks, spalling, and minor settling can usually be repaired. If the base under the slab has failed or the concrete is broken into pieces, replacement is the honest call. We look first and tell you which one your concrete needs.

Often, yes. A slab that has settled but is still in one piece can sometimes be lifted and leveled instead of torn out, which costs less and is faster. If the slab is cracked apart, leveling will not hold and we say so.

A repair blends in better than it sticks out, but new concrete and old concrete almost never match perfectly in color. For a uniform look, resurfacing the whole area is the better option. We walk you through what to expect before we start.
